About Coventry Peace House

Coventry Peace House is a fully mutual housing co-operative. This means that people live here and it is their home but there is no private ownership - people can come, and they can go, and the house stays the Coventry Peace House. We try to live as co-operatively as we can: decisions are made by consensus which is where we always try to reach a decision that everyone is happy with and we are non-hierachical which means that no-one has any more power than any-one else. In practice this is very difficult but we are always trying to see what we can do better.

We are also committed to working actively for peace and the environment - exactly what this means depends on who is living here at the time. Our ongoing projects are the Coventry Cycling Centre, work with Radical Routes (a network of co-operatives) and our hospitality work with refugees. We are also involved in various other campaigns and events as and when we have the energy and inspiration.

We have activity weekends on the first full weekend of every month - this is a good time to meet us all and for us to meet you! If you would be interested then let us know and come along.
